Lake Manyara National Park is a beautiful and diverse safari destination located beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. Although smaller than some of Tanzania’s other northern parks, it offers an impressive variety of landscapes, including groundwater forests, open grasslands, wetlands and the alkaline shores of Lake Manyara.
The park is known for its elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos and large troops of baboons. Visitors may also encounter lions and other predators, while the lake and surrounding wetlands attract a wide variety of birdlife. Its scenic setting and compact size make Lake Manyara an excellent addition to a northern Tanzania safari.
